Fast forward to 2019 and you can come to Jims Classic Garage and find them all and reminisce. The attached wood boat is one of the elite wood Mahogany boats ever built. This is a rare 1955 22 all wood boat built in British Columbia called a Shepherd. It wasnt until the late 50s that aluminum boats started to take over. Its unfortunate too, because these boats bring quiet rides, especially this one. Take a look at the freeboard and depth of the inside. From stern to bow, the depth of the gunnels lends itself to a much safer ride, and better displacement. They refer to these Shepherds as Deep Water Boats youll never find a safer boat to head out on a classic cocktail cruise, or a quick jaunt at 40 mph to Roche Harbor or Canada. We are already working on bringing it back to life after it sat for several years unattended to. Currently she has a 4.3 Liter V6 engine with a newer Velvet drive transmission. We had a new heat exchanger, carburetor, hoses, fuel pump, electrical and wiring harness installed. She runs great, and for its maiden voyage, were taking all staff members, as well as Kash, our student out on the water this Friday. If someone calls us Monday morning, and you dont get an answer, please call the Coast Gaurd, then my ex wife and let her know...neener, neener, theres no more money coming Lol For the most part, the boats in generally good condition with the exception of a few minor crack spots on the side. The foredeck and the engine hatch could use sanding and re-varnishing. The bottom has been fiberglassed and does not leak. She also comes with an extremely nice Ex-Loader tandem axle trailer. If anyones looking for a big wood boat with historical value, at a great price, please call Jim. As work on the boat continues, the price goes up. We are able to assist with shipping..
