They were designed by the famous Naval Architect Ted Hood who designed and built just over 100 of them between 1980 and 1984 in New England. This boat is hull 9. They are an exceptionally strong cruiser that has a reputation for excellent sailing characteristics. LaBaleine will sleep six, two in the aft Masters cabin with ensuite head, two in the forward stateroom v-berth with access to the forward head, and two in the dinette with separate access to the forward head. Her spacious Center Cockpit provides excellent visibility while affording protection from the weather and spray. With her Centerboard Keel, LaBaleine will allow you to take advantage of shallow passages and anchorages that other yachts her size cannot and, with the Centerboard down, she will point exceptionally well to weather while under sail. LaBaleines current owner has maintained her very well for 8 years. This boat is beautiful and a performer. She is priced to sell and ready to refit with the cruising electronics and creature comforts you prefer. We have done 2-3 hour sunset charters on her the past 8 years. Owner is a USCG Licensed Captain and certified vessel examiner for the CG Auxiliary. LaBaleine is in excellent operating conditon whether under power or sail. The head sail, which was tightly furled and has protective sunbrella edge, did receive some wind damage so I have contracted with North Sails in Charleston, SC to replace the head Sail with the new owners specs after an agreed upon price. (The current price will include that new sail). Also, two halyards were frayed form the storm and replaced with new line. No Florence issues She was hauled out and survived on the hard in a marina. After the storm, she was pressure washed, sanded and bottom painted. All through hulls were checked along with the running gear. No issues anywhere there. .
